The fruit of the Spirit
The fruit of the Spirit reveals how God is in character and nature through the believer.
Galatians 5:22, Matthew 7:15-20
1. Love (agape)
This love comes out of sacrifice, self-denial and compassion. John 13:13-35
Being cheerful and glad. Acts 13:52, Nehemiah 8:10
3. Peace (Eirene)
To be quiet and be in a state of rest. A state of no trouble or in an undisturbed state. Isaiah 26:3-4, Philippians 4:7
4. Long suffering
The state of bearing with one another. Hebrews 6:12, James 5:10-11
5. Gentleness/ kindness
The state of showing favour to others. Ephesians 4:32, Colossians 3:12
The state of being morally excellent. Romans 13:21, Matthew 5:15-16
The state of being loyal and devoted to duties and obligations. Matthew 24:45-47, Matthew 25:21
8. Temperance/ self-control
The state of being able to control one’s self in all things. 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, James 1:19, James 3:1-12
Galatians 5:24-26, 2 Peter 1:5-9
In the church and as believers, we are not supposed to live by just the anointing (the gift of the Holy Spirit) and not reveal the character of God (the fruit of the Spirit) or reveal His character and not manifest His power. We are called to reveal both His power and character.
