1Corithians 3:21-23 KJV 21 Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; 22 Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; 23 and ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s.
Can God give me all that I need? Does God have what you need?…… The list of questions we normally ask continues.
God is creator of all things. All things are in His possession.
We received rights and privileges the day we were born into the family of God, the day we received Christ Jesus into our lives as our Lord and saviour. Jesus bought and paid for everything through His death on the cross, burial and resurrection. God gave us the right and privilege to use the “name of Jesus” the day we joined God’s family, to possess all that Christ Jesus died and resurrected for. However, it is up to you to use what belongs to you.
“How prone we are to be associated with men and to glory in men! We are more excited about being with the influential and famous of this world than about being with God. We value the gifts and honours of men more than the gifts and honour God gives.”
Our glory and boast is not in the arm of men. Men may fail us but God does not. Man may promise and not deliver, but the promises of God are yes and amen.
Human wisdom, wealth or anything we can think of is not permanent but temporal. We are all inspired and connected to and by a divine being. We are in Christ and Christ is in us. Our source of inspiration is in Christ and not in men.
Paul was admonishing the Corinthian church that had its own issues and weaknesses, just like how our lives are filled with weaknesses, to know and understand that all things are theirs. Hence, their strength and boast was not in men but in God.
All this to say, there is no boasting in anything, but in Christ with whom we are co-heirs.
