The Bible makes it abundantly clear that God’s plan for His children is for them to experience elevated life. The Father wants to lift and exalt us, and to cause us to walk in high places. We need, therefore, to know the provision that He has made available for us to walk in the light of it.
Truth is many of us believe in the future resurrection of our bodies just like Martha. But we are not consciously aware that we can experience resurrection on a daily bases in our lives. Notice what Jesus said, “l AM THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE.”.
We need to understand that resurrection is more than just an event; it is embodied and personified in Christ. The resurrecting nature of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit makes it possible for us to experience elevated or resurrection life, a higher quality of life in every area of our lives. This is the revelation Abraham had about God.
In Genesis 17, God appeared to Abram when he was about 99 years old, and changed his name to Abraham (the Father of many nations), and Sarai to Sarah (the mother of nations). Then God promised them a son when Abraham’s body WAS DEAD and Sarah’s womb WAS ALSO DEAD. But the revelation about God as the ONE WHO GIVES LIFE TO THE DEAD, generated faith and hope in Abraham right in the face of contrary circumstances.
No matter the dead situation you find yourself in, you can trust God WHO GIVES LIFE TO THE DEAD to lift you up. Understand that the resurrecting and lifting nature of God can make a whole difference in your life.
In John chapter 5, Jesus was confronted by the Jews after He healed the man who had infirmity for 38 years on the Sabbath. Among other responses Jesus gave to the Jews was:
21 FOR AS THE FATHER RAISES THE DEAD AND GIVES LIFE TO THEM, EVEN SO THE SON GIVES LIFE TO WHOM HE WILL.
Know that the resurrecting nature of God, does not only raise those who are physically dead without the spirit to life. It also gives life to every dead situation. Your dead situation may be in the area of your finance, marriage, morals, ministry, family life, spiritual life, unfruitfulness, attitude, sickness and the like. You can trust God to lift you up. The man who was sick for 38 years received life to live a better and higher life through the resurrecting nature of Christ.
Remember our first encounter with the resurrecting nature of God was in the new birth. God raised us up when we were dead in trespasses and sins to sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus– Ephesians 2:1,5.
Now having raised us up, God expects us to live a new kind of life, a resurrection or elevated life for Him. Understand that we were created for something greater, higher and better. The provision the Father has made for us is THE RESURRECTION POWER.
Notice the SAME MIGHTY POWER that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honour is made available to us. This resurrection power works to revitalise, give life to our dying bodies and delivers us from our dead situations– Rom. 8:11; 2Cor.1:8-10.
The revealing truth is, we can experience the resurrection life through the power anytime, any day in any area of our lives.
In Philippians 3, gives us further insight into how the resurrection power can be real to us and lift us up from our moral and spiritual dead conditions for us to become like Christ.
Philippians 3:11 (AMP)
That if possible I MAY ATTAIN TO THE [SPIRITUAL AND MORAL] RESURRECTION [THAT LIFTS ME] OUT FROM AMONG THE DEAD [EVEN WHILE IN THE BODY].
Paul was not making reference to the future resurrection of our bodies. The passage clearly shows that he had in mind the resurrection that can be attained even while in the body.
You cannot hang around THE RESURRECTION AND THE LIFE and remain dead in any area of your life. As we develop intimacy with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, we will come to experience, and walk in the resurrection power in a greater measure. And we will experience THE RESURRECTION THAT LIFTS US UP FROM AMONG THE DEAD in the here and now. The resurrection power can lift us to a higher height for us to reflect the image and glory of Christ in every area of our lives.
