MY JOURNEY IN VICTORY

The word of God tells me about not having the spirit of fear (Romans 8:5), but is this true in my life, when I always seem scared of the future or just a guess of it. Just the word “future” scares me of, not to even talk about the thought of it. Job said the things I greatly fear have come upon me, as job was became fearful of the things that he saw day and night, so have I also become. Being scared of things I hear, see and think of happening to me to bring me to destruction.
Unlike others who are scared at the sight of an insect, mouse or swimming, my fear in life is about the future I have no idea of or seen. As believers we are called to walk by faith, so why would a tongue talking believer like me be scared of the future which might be the next few minutes, days, months or years. The only way to explain this is to know that, I’m acting contrary to the word of God, and that is the doing of the enemy of God’s word. When Adam received God’s word, but the devil worked through their minds and caused them to disobey the word of God. The greatest battle of the believer is in the mind and the only enemy of the believer is the devil who deploys various tactics to penetrate the mind and cause us to loose our identity in Christ.  The only enemy of my Godly future and inheritance in Christ is not of flesh and blood but the devil whom the bible describes as an adversary in 1 Peter 5:8.
The devil have succeeded in making me believe in his lies of no hope in the future, by penetrating into my mind and thought with images and thoughts of the past to keep me in bondage.
The Greek meaning of an adversary is “someone who is against the righteousness of God (right standing). Fear that brings torment and bondage is from the devil (Romans 8:5), because this causes us to loose our faith and trust in the finished works of Christ which is our inheritance. And this happens to be my situation, if this is not the work of the devil my adversary and the mind manipulator then what  or who is it?
But thanks be to God, for the coming of His Son Jesus to destroy the work of the devil, John . It now my responsibility to enforce this victory in my life by confessing and meditating upon His word. I have therefore resolve to loose my mind from captivity by renewing my mind by the transformation of the word of God (Romans 12:2), which is the sword of the spirit and mighty to the pulling down of strongholds, casting down imaginations and bringing into captivity every word that exalts itself above the knowledge of Jesus, 2 Corinthians 10:4. I’m taking the battle to the gates of the mind to destroy his works, where he used in establishing it in the first place by thinking and meditating on that which is noble, right and the victory I have received (Philippians 4:8) and by confessing who I am in Christ whether be it now or in the futThe word of God tells me about not having the spirit of fear (Romans 8:5), but is this true in my life, when I always seem scared of the future or just a guess of it.
