Order of authority – Godhead, man, Angels and demons

One of the great truth that jump out to me during the study of angels and demons was the order of authority during creation, the fall of man and the order of authority after the resurrection of Christ. The topic further strengthened and affirm my faith in the finished works of Christ and my authority over the fallen angels, demons and the devil.

During creation as recorded in the book of Genesis, man was above the devil and evil spirits but was below the Godhead and Angels. This doesn’t mean that angels are better than men.
Losing this position of his to the devil and evil spirits after the fall by disobeying  God’s instruction, man became last in the order of authority.
(Eph 2:2-3, 2 Cor 4:3-4)

After Jesus’s death and resurrection, the position of believers in Christ change. Believers (the second Adam) became second in the order of authority with Angels, the devil and evil spirits, and the unsaved man below it. (Eph 1:17-21, Heb 2:6-9,14, 1Cor 15:24-28.)
We earned this position through our faith in the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus. Our position then changed to the position of Christ Jesus, because we are sitting in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. We are found in Him and our identity of authority is in Him.

One striking fact is that the position of the fallen man still remains unchanged because of his fallen nature. The only way to move or change this position is to have faith in the death and resurrection of Christ.

Order of Authority
A. At creation
   i. God head
   ii. Angels(Elohim- Refers to Angels/God)
iv. The Devil and evil spirits
It doesn’t mean that angels re better than men.

B. After the fall and current state of the sinner
  i. Godhead
  ii. Angels
iii. The Devil and evil spirits
  iv. Man
Eph 2:2-3, 2 Cor 4:3-4

C. After Jesus’s resurrection- The position of believers Eph 1:17-21, Heb 2:6-9,14, 1Cor 15:24-28.
i. Godhead
ii. Christ (God-man and redeemed man in Christ)
iii. Angels
iv. The Devil and evil spirits
v.   Unsaved man

This further strengthens the fact that, the devil, evil spirits and fallen angels have no authority over the redeemed man, but his only authority is that which the redeemed man gives him.
In Christ man is elevated above angels and the Devil.
