Redemption Realities

Circumcision is the act of removing the fore skin. The sign of God covenant with Abraham was circumcision, and any male child who is not circumcised is cut off from the covenant. Under the new covenant, we are circumcised in the heart when we recieve Christ Jesus into our lives as our Lord and Savior.

Philippians 3:3 talks about we being the true circumcision who worship God in the spirit, paraphrase is mine. The New Testament is the true circumcision because, his or her circumcision not done in the physical but in the spirit not with the hand of man but that of Christ. In Christ we are circumcised in our heart, by removing the fore skin (flesh) which is sin, this allows the New Testament believer to serve God in spirit and in truth and not in shadows.

In Christ Jesus we are redeemed.

Redemption is the act of buying back. We were bought back from our slave master which is sin and death by Christ through His death, burial, resurrection and ascension. And these are some of the benefits of our redemption in him;

  • We have been redeemed from the curse of sin and death, Galatians 3:13
  • We have being redeem from the law, Galatians 4:4-5
  • He has redeemed us from the power of sin, Titus 2:14
  • Our relationship with God is restored through His redemptive work, revelation 5:9-10

Positional truth is our standing in Christ Jesus by the virtue of our new birth. Positional truth contains truth that may not be felt by us, it is complete and cannot be improved upon or changed.

Experiential truth is my day to day activity and experience on earth. Our position in Christ ought to be the basis for our experience.
