The sluggard

The sluggard

As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him. Proverbs 10:26 (KJV)

A sluggard is someone who is habitually lazy or inactive and who hates to work. He or she is idle and attracts pain and disappointment to those who depends on him or her. If your leader cannot depend on you, you are a sluggard. If you repeatedly fail to meet deadlines, you are sluggard.

Another character of a sluggard is mismanagement of time. Time is money, but more than that, it’s your greatest asset on earth. In Genesis 1, God assigned time to specific tasks. At the end of one week, He could list all His achievement for each day. Up till now, many leave home with no set objective in mind. Days, weeks, months and years go by without achieving anything meaningful. If you cannot set goals and objectives for yourself and follow it with due commitment and diligence, you are a sluggard. If you cannot keep appointments or always go late for meetings, God says you are a sluggard.

Another mark of a sluggard is excuse making. The sluggard is a factory which generates and produces excuses. If the weather is what determines whether you will work or not, you are a sluggard. Successful people find reasons to succeed while sluggards find excuse for failing. If your job or business is the excuse for not serving God, you are a sluggard. Sluggards are destined to fail.

You are a child of destiny and success, wealth and victory are part of you. Put off every attitude of a sluggard today and reach out for diligence. You must reach your goal.
