Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee,……”, should be one of the basics for every christian in our walk with Christ. For God had plans for us even before we were conceived.
Bible recorded that Abraham had a faithful walk with God even when the promise for him to be a Father of many nations seemed never to come to pass. Abraham held on to God and his promise and had his son Isaac, through whom we had Isreal,a great nation.
Joseph on the other hand in the Bible, had revealing dreams confirming his greatness but along the way got sold, assaulted, lied against and imprisoned. Joseph held on to God as well, even as a slave in the kings house, where he was tempted by the Queen and at the end of it all, come out being the second in command in Egypt. Because he refused to be corrupted and trusted in the word of God for his life.
The demands and pressures of this world has left almost everyone running after being held in high esteem in all circles of life at all cost at the expense of the word of God.
Gathering alot of strength to answer questions such, “Are you married? Do you have kids? Where do you live? Is that you car?” Some of these trends of the world is just enough to get anyone pressured.
The question to ask yourself is, “I’m I being taken over by the trends of the world, so much so that I do anything just to have a place?”
Another may ask, “so as Christians, are we not to have the best?”
Philippians 4:6 says,Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God with thanksgiving.
Rev Funke Adejumo has a popular saying that “anything that has two heads is a monster”. In other words, you can’t have two masters.
Therefore ask yourself these questions when you seem overwhelmed by the the demands of this world. “Who is in my boat? Who is directing my life? Is Christ the leader or I am?”
We cannot be in charge of our lives and still expect God to intervene only when we want to. For as human as we are, our strengths are limited. We don’t even have the power to make what we plan come to pass, because we don’t own our breath but God has the power and more .
Bible assures us that God is the Alpha and Omega, He starts and he finishes. He makes and unmakes. The story of Joseph can testify to this. Joseph was a great man from birth, and God saw to it that he became great regardless of the trials. This is because he trusted and believed God and the process.
James 1:17 says, every good gift and perfect gift comes from Above, the Father of Lights, in whom no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
So let’s focus on God the author and finisher of our faith, believing and trusting that with God, there is nothing impossible.
For the Bible once again defines us as a royal priesthood, we have a Father that is Mighty and the Ruler of the Heavens and the Earth. Jacob, Joseph and David of the Old days believed and trusted God and thrived, and are still living even after their death.
Let’s seek the face of God, trusting and believing he is with us and never cease praying that He perfects everything that concerns us.
