1Pe 3:1 KJV Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
Did God design women as inferior creatures or to be inferior in marriage?
The first part of the text suggest God’s ideal for women in marriage. This may be like fanning the flame of a school of of thought there. But God is not apologizing or retracting His well grounded ideal for a woman.
Submitting or being in subjection to your own husband does not make you inferior. This is not slavery, but rather God’s plan for order in the home. Just as the human body or organizations may not function effectively with many heads in control, so is the home. Everything has been designed to have one head, in other to function effectively.

In other to fulfill God’s assigned mandate or role in marriage by each partner, God in His own wisdom created the man to be the head of the family with the woman assisting or helping him.
Eph 5:23 KJV For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
“Woman was made of a rib, out of the side of Adam, not out of his feet to be trampled upon, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved.”
We were all created equally in God’s sight, but for the sake of administration, God brought in the marriage organizational chart so there can be order and a line of reporting.
If we submit to our bosses in the work environment and do not complain but see it as a duty, and even go the extra mile because they possess our cheque books(earthly rewards). Why can’t we do same for our husbands for an eternal reward that doesn’t perish.
“Success in marriage consist not only in the right mate, but also in being the right mate.”
Phi 2:5-9 KJV 5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
Jesus Christ submitted himself to the will of God the Father and was exalted not humiliated.
